Recognizing the longstanding need for higher secondary education in the science stream within the Medziphema area, our initiative has been to bridge this educational gap. Over the past years, students desiring to pursue higher secondary science stream faced the logistical challenge of relocating to distant places. This has imposed a significant financial burden on the community. In response, we sought and were granted permission by the Nagaland Board of School Education to launch a higher secondary science stream, marked by the issuance of the official order Vide Order NO.NBE-22/EX-Recog-HS/2019-20/2357 Dated Kohima, the 20th of November 2019. The pioneering batch for Class XI (Science) commenced in 2020. Furthermore, in response to the community’s growing educational need, we also recognized the importance of an Arts stream, and thus, we expanded our curriculum to include the Arts stream, with approval granted in December 2023 Vide Order NO.NBE-22/Ex-Recog-HS/2023-24 Dated Kohima, the 15th of December 2023.
Our commitment to education is reflected in our efforts to maintain a low teacher-student ratio, ensuring personalized attention, and fostering an environment conducive to quality learning. Our fully equipped quality science laboratories provide students with practical hands-on experience that complement their theoretical knowledge. Building on this foundation, the school has implemented coaching programs to prepare all admitted Class XI science students for the NEET-UG and JEE Main examinations from the beginning of their session, with guidance from experienced visiting professors. This initiative ensures that by the end of their two-year Higher Secondary course, students will have received extensive training for national level entrance examinations.
